'BECOMING' A collaboration between Sappho’s Friends, Gestures & Nods, and Siren Stories Project
Join us on one day of performances, workshops and conversations around the notions of embodied practices, transness, and fluidity within performance artistic practices linked to gender. This time we are highlighting the artistic practices of Muza de la Luz and Angelle Khachik.

ABOUT THE PARTICIPANTS
Angelle Khachik (they/them) is an organiser, curator, performance artist, opera singer, and sonic artist who uses voice as their main medium. Khachik is interested in embodied practices and collaborative horizontal processes.
Muza de la Luz work is inter- and trans-disciplinary, rooted in somatic practice and explored with themes of ritual, mythology, transformation, desire, and the erotic to raise consciousness around issues of gender identity, sexuality, sex worker rights, and environmentalism. They are a trans-nonbinary, genderfluid, queer, multiethnic, Latinx sex worker who synthesizes these aspects of identity within a basis of somatic practice into performance.
Muza graduated from the MA Performance program at Akedemi i Scenekunst/Norwegian Theatre Academy in 2024. Their research investigates interdisciplinary performance methodologies, how to apply them in service to the sex work community, considering manners to amplify work directly from sex workers, and creating various multimedia and live performances which synthesize these themes.

Gestures & Nods is a platform where performative and embodied practices can be experienced, researched, discussed, and where knowledge can be exchanged collectively and connecting different geographies and non-Europatriarcal, anti-oppressive, and anti-racist perspectives.
